Funding

Personalisation of care allows you to maintain your independence within your own home and community.

What is Personalisation?

The Government’s approach to personalisation can be summarised as follows:

“..the way in which services are tailored to the needs and preferences of citizens.”
The vision is that the state should empower citizens to shape their own lives and the services they receive.

We can provide personal solutions which give you the power to control your own outcomes rather than accepting the menu of care provisions offered by your Local Authority.

Who funds your care?

Your home care support can be provided privately, where you pay for all of your care services, or you may be entitled to funding support which, subject to your needs and financial circumstances, could be part funded or fully funded by your Local Authority.

We will work with you to find the options that best suit you, your circumstances and your personal finances.

Private Home Care

If you do not qualify for funded support we will work with you to provide a tailor-made package that meets your personal needs and financial requirements.

  • Our trained team will meet with you to discuss your requirements free of charge and without obligation.
  • After the initial assessment we will create a personal support plan based on your needs.
  • We will provide a tailor-made package costed at our competitive rates and discuss with you the cost implications of your requirements. We can adapt this package to meet your budget and discuss with you your preferred method of payment.

These services are exempt from any VAT charge.

If you wish to proceed with the personal support plan and agree our price for the care package we will produce a contract of terms and conditions to provide services at the agreed cost. You will have the right to cancel the contract at any time in the future with seven days notice and without any further cost to you.

This contract is provided by the UK Homecare Association of which we are members, and we must abide by the Associations strict code of practice in providing and charging for your care. To view code of practice visit www.ukhca.co.uk.

The whole process will also be overseen by the Care Quality Commission with whom Community Careline Services Dewsbury is licensed to provide care services. For more information visit www.cqc.org.uk.

Funded Home Care

Every Local Authority in the UK has a duty to provide care funding for those assessed as eligible to receive the care which will allow them to remain at home as long as possible.

When Social Services are made aware that you require help in the home they will arrange for your needs to be assessed. They will discuss with you what kind of care will achieve the outcomes you require.

Social Services will make an assessment of your needs and financial circumstances and will then discuss funding and your eligibility for funded care.

There is a high demand for social care and only those most in need of personal and domestic homecare are likely to receive care funding.

Personal Budget

If you are assessed by the Local Authority as eligible for social care funding a Personal Budget will be allocated to you based on your care needs.

You can use this fund to purchase services that meet your needs and help to achieve your outcomes.

Your Personal Budget can be managed by:

  • Yourself via Direct Payments – you receive the money into your bank account.
  • Local Authority on your behalf – they commission the care services which meet your needs.
  • A mixture of the above.

Direct Payment

Most people assessed as eligible for social funding will also be eligible for Direct Payments.

To receive Direct Payments you must be capable of making good decisions about how the money is spent and keep a simple record of the payments made to meet your needs.

  • Direct payments put you in control.
  • You do not have to purchase the services from or recommended by your council.
  • You can select a provider you feel best meets your needs.
  • You can top up the funds allocated to you by the council to purchase additional services or select a different service provider who you believe will give you a better service.

Individual Budget

These are similar to Personal Budgets but are made up from various fund sources such as the Independent Living Fund, granted to those with severe disabilities and living at home within their community.
